When Ms. Cunningham started talking about time management I knew that I would be in trouble, I know that I procrastinate a lot because some of the things that we learn in class are not always eye catching and not things that I enjoy. When Mr. Purnell introduced us to google calendars I could tell that it would be hard for me to understand how it works and how to add new things to it. I knew that google calendars would not be for me because I would much rather use paper copies but this was a requirement for my academy. We talked about SMART goals, time management, procrastination, prioritizing, and google calendars and how these things can help us with managing our time and getting things finished. Our teacher gave us different ways that we could make time to finish our work, as they give us a lot of time to finish I still wait until the last minute until I hand things in and they are always late. School work is very important and I know that I need to get my work in to be successful after high school, I feel like I put other things above my school work for many reasons but mostly because that is what teenagers do. I do want to change this by setting certain times for the different subjects that I have. I think that google calendars would be a good solution but also setting reminders to help me not to forget, might also work as well. Moving into grade 10 has been a lot harder for me than I thought it would be as I struggle with staying focused, grade 9 was a lot slower and I could keep up on my work but when I moved into grade 10 things sped up and got a lot more complicated. My goal is to go to Ms. Cunningham’s class once a week for extra help and to make sure I am up to date with my work and getting everything in on time.
