When I first came into the music academy I didn’t really know how to play any instruments, I came in wanting to learn how to play the piano and I think that I accomplished it in a way I still think that I can improve and become a better musician. The highlight to this semester was our second performance although it was not our best and it seemed very embarrassing it was a great experience to have. It was meaningful to me because even though I didn’t want to I didn’t have a choice, my teacher encouraged me to do it and to continue even when I made mistakes. It made me feel more confident. I have learned that being a musician for me is much more difficult than I would have imagined it takes longer for me to understand the music and getting our music to go together. I think that if I put more effort into my work I will be able to understand a lot better. The work on paper and on the computer is what’s more challenging, I think that it’s more challenging to hand everything in and on time. I am still working on overcoming this challenge I think that I have to put things into a calendar or chunk out my work to be able to complete things on time. My goal for this semester is still to get better at reading sheet music and being able to get the band to play together without stopping as much as we did in the first semester. I hope by the end of the semester we can get the band to play good together.
